I Have Coins & Collectibles Case Study: Building an Educational, Trust-Driven Web Presence Across Three Collectibles Brands

Client
I Have Coins & Collectibles
Owner: Rod Crochiere
I Have Coins & Collectibles is part of a larger group of collectibles-focused businesses owned by Rod Crochiere, alongside Franklin Sports Cards and TCG Trainers Universe .
This project marked the third website we designed with Rod and his team , following our work on TCG Trainers Universe and Franklin Sports Cards. Across each project, the goal has been to progressively overhaul the web presence of Rod’s businesses while making sure each site accurately reflects the company behind it.
From the beginning, Rod has focused on keeping his customers and clients educated. Whether someone is buying, selling, trading, grading, or simply trying to understand the value of an item they own, education has always been a core part of how his businesses operate.
Because of that, we wanted to make sure the websites were built on the same foundation: trust, clarity, education, and ownership .
Background
We began collaborating with Rod Crochiere and his team in November of 2025 . Since then, our work together has grown across multiple businesses, websites, and marketing channels.
The larger goal has been to help each brand build a stronger online presence — not just by creating better-looking websites, but by developing platforms that support the way Rod and his team already work with their customers.
Each website needed to do more than exist online. It needed to:
- Educate visitors
- Represent the business accurately
- Build trust with customers
- Highlight services and expertise
- Support ongoing content and marketing
- Give the business full ownership of its digital presence
As our work progressed, we also assisted with social media, moving between each business as we worked through the websites. This allowed us to help create a more consistent digital presence across Rod’s brands while still tailoring the messaging and content to each individual business.
Phase One: TCG Trainers Universe
Starting with a Full Website Redevelopment
Our first major website project with Rod’s team was for TCG Trainers Universe , which was previously known as Poke Trainers Universe .
At the time, the business needed a website that better explained who they were, what they offered, and how customers could engage with the store. The previous web presence did not fully reflect the in-store experience, the range of available services, or the expertise behind the business.
What We Created
We redeveloped the website to make it more informative, useful, and customer-focused.
The updated site included:
- Store information
- A gallery
- Frequently asked questions
- An AI chatbot
- Card grading service information
- Posts highlighting notable cards that had come through the store
Rather than building a simple informational website, we helped create a resource that customers could use to learn more about the store, explore available services, and see examples of interesting cards and collectibles.
This approach aligned with Rod’s long-standing focus on education. The website gave customers a place to get answers, understand services, and feel more confident before visiting or reaching out.

Phase Two: Rebrand to TCG Trainers Universe
Supporting the Brand’s Growth
After some time, the business rebranded from Poke Trainers Universe to TCG Trainers Universe .
We assisted with this transition by helping update the brand’s digital presence to reflect the new name and broader direction. The rebrand allowed the business to move beyond a focus on one specific card category and better represent the larger trading card game community.
This was an important evolution for the brand. The new name gave the business room to better communicate everything it offered while creating a more flexible identity for future growth.
The website was updated to support that shift, helping position TCG Trainers Universe as a destination for collectors, players, and trading card enthusiasts.
Phase Three: Franklin Sports Cards
Bringing the Same Educational Approach to Sports Cards
After our work on TCG Trainers Universe, we moved on to Franklin Sports Cards .
Because Franklin Sports Cards operates in a related collectibles space, we were able to bring over some of the same strategic thinking while tailoring the website to sports cards, inventory highlights, and industry information.
Website Focus
For Franklin Sports Cards, the website was designed to highlight:
- Interesting collectible cards that came through the inventory
- Important sports card industry information
- Educational content for collectors
- Store credibility and expertise
- Updates and articles tied to the sports card market
The site became a place where visitors could learn more about collectible cards, stay informed about the industry, and see examples of notable inventory.
As with the first website, the goal was not just to show what the business had — it was to explain why it mattered.
That educational angle helped reinforce trust with visitors and gave Franklin Sports Cards a stronger platform for ongoing content.

Phase Four: Ongoing Social Media Support
Extending the Websites Into Marketing Channels
Throughout our time working together, we also assisted with social media for Rod’s businesses.
As we moved between website projects, we supported the brands across their digital marketing channels, helping maintain activity and consistency while each site was being improved.
This created a stronger connection between the websites and the businesses’ broader marketing efforts. The websites provided educational depth, while social media offered a way to share updates, highlight content, and keep audiences engaged.
By working across both the websites and social platforms, we were able to help create a more connected digital presence for Rod’s businesses.
Phase Five: I Have Coins & Collectibles
Creating an Educational Website for a Wide Range of Inventory
The most recent project was the website for I Have Coins & Collectibles .
This site required a different approach than the previous two. While TCG Trainers Universe and Franklin Sports Cards could focus more directly on specific types of cards and collectible inventory, I Have Coins & Collectibles works with a much wider range of items.
The business handles categories such as:
- Coins
- Gold
- Silver
- Comics
- Collectibles
- Other valuable or unique items
Because the inventory is so broad, we decided the website should focus primarily on education.
Strategic Direction
Instead of trying to showcase every possible item the business works with, we built the website around helping visitors understand what makes something collectible or valuable.
The site was designed to answer important questions, such as:
- What makes an item collectible?
- What factors affect the value of a coin?
- Why do gold and silver prices matter?
- What should someone know about comics as collectibles?
- What types of items may be worth bringing in?
- How do condition, rarity, demand, and history affect value?
- Why is expert evaluation important?
This educational direction was especially important because many visitors may not be experienced collectors. Some may have inherited coins, discovered old comics, found silver or gold items, or simply be unsure whether something they own has value.
The website was built to meet those visitors where they are, educate them, and guide them toward taking the next step.

What We Delivered for I Have Coins & Collectibles
For I Have Coins & Collectibles, we created a website centered on:
- Education
- Trust
- Clarity
- Customer confidence
- Professional expertise
The website included information on:
- What makes an item collectible
- Coins and coin collecting
- Gold
- Silver
- Comics
- Collectible items
- Value factors such as condition, rarity, history, and demand
- The importance of professional review
The end result was a website that helps customers understand more about the items they own before they ever walk through the door.
It also positioned I Have Coins & Collectibles not only as a place to buy or sell, but as a knowledgeable resource for people looking for honest guidance.
Ongoing Educational Articles
Today, our work with Rod and his team continues beyond the initial website builds.
We now actively post educational articles to each site, helping the businesses continue to provide value to customers over time. These articles support the same mission that guided the website redesigns: keeping customers informed and building trust through education.
This ongoing content also gives each website room to grow. Instead of remaining static, the sites continue to evolve with new information, insights, and updates relevant to collectors and customers.
We look forward to continuing our work with Rod and his team as their digital presence grows.
Brand Story Development
Across all three websites, the larger brand story became clear.
Rod Crochiere’s businesses are not simply places to buy, sell, or trade collectibles. They are customer-focused resources built around knowledge, transparency, and trust.
Each website supports that story in its own way:
- TCG Trainers Universe became a hub for trading card game collectors and players.
- Franklin Sports Cards became a platform for sports card education, inventory highlights, and industry updates.
- I Have Coins & Collectibles became an educational resource for people with coins, precious metals, comics, and collectibles.
Together, these websites created a more complete digital ecosystem for Rod’s businesses — one that reflects how his team already serves customers in person.
Outcome
The I Have Coins & Collectibles website completed the next stage of a larger effort to modernize and strengthen the online presence of Rod Crochiere’s businesses.
By the end of the project, I Have Coins & Collectibles had a website that better reflected the business’s expertise, wide inventory, and educational approach.
The site helps visitors understand:
- What types of items the business works with
- What may make those items valuable
- Why professional expertise matters
- How I Have Coins & Collectibles can help
Most importantly, the project showed how a thoughtful website strategy can turn a broad business offering into a clear, educational, and trust-building digital experience.
Summary
This project marked our third website collaboration with Rod Crochiere and his team.
Beginning with TCG Trainers Universe, continuing with Franklin Sports Cards, and most recently completing I Have Coins & Collectibles, we helped progressively overhaul the web presence of three connected collectibles businesses.
Throughout the process, the focus remained the same: build websites that accurately represent the businesses, educate their customers, and create a digital presence the owner can truly stand behind.
For I Have Coins & Collectibles, that meant creating a site centered on trust and education. Because the business works with such a wide variety of items, we focused on helping visitors understand what makes something collectible, what affects value, and why expert guidance matters.
The result was a website that supports the business not just as a buyer or seller of collectibles, but as a trusted educational resource.
